Jan – April 2019

I have been able to visit some great places to give talks at:
University of Southern California, Department of Biological Sciences
University of California Irvine, Department of Developmental & Cell Biology
EPFL, Life Sciences and Engineering
NM-INBRE and NCGR’s Symposium on Integrative Omics
Protein Engineering Summit (PEGS) Conference in Boston

Dec 2018

Spent 6 months learning experimental cell culture (tissue culture, neurospheres, FISH, DNA and RNA extraction). Photos below are proof that computational scientists can get their feet wet in experiments (and enjoy it!).

Oct 2018

I presented Recon3D at COBRA (Constraint-based modeling reconstruction analysis) conference in Seattle

July 2018

I was accepted into the Cancer Therapeutics Training (CT2) Fellowship program through Moores Cancer Research Center!

May 2018

We were interviewed by The Scientist Magazine about Recon3D!
Check out the interview !

March 2018

Recon3D is out in press in Nature Biotechnology! Link to paper

Dec 2017

A proposal I wrote was selected for NVIDIA’s compute the cure grant- 200K!
see details on the work at:   NVIDIA press release

June 2017

Join me at the Festival of Genomics San Diego June 26-27 where I’ll be speaking in a panel on “Overcoming bottlenecks in using the microbiome to improve health.” The festival combines powerful learning experiences and brings together representatives from all areas of genomic medicine to explore health care and clinical applications, technological advances in CRISPR and single cell analysis and pharma R&D to enable precision medicine. Check out the full agenda here: agenda

May 2017

Two articles were accepted and soon to be in press!
Keep a eye out for:
Sastry et al. Bioinformatics (2017) — my first senior author paper!
Monk, Lloyd, Brunk et al. Nature Biotechnology (2017)

February 2017

Looking forward to giving a talk in the Gene Variation 3D workshop – held at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle! Working toward the interconnection of genomic, proteomic, and protein structure data…
